About the Informed Consent Action Network
The Informed Consent Action Network (ICAN), was founded in 2016 and was created with the goal of providing every person with the right to informed consent.
ICAN believes that by holding regulators accountable through legal action, individuals can become empowered to make informed decisions about their own health and the health of their families.

The challenge: building trust and maintaining strong donor relationships at scale
ICAN aims to increase donor trust and build strong relationships with more than 20,000 monthly donors.
Many of ICAN’s supporters have been directly affected by medical products, making personal and timely communication especially important.
The organization prioritizes quick responses to donor inquiries, whether related to simple questions or monetary contributions.
Providing prompt, thoughtful responses helps build trust and reinforces the value ICAN places on its supporters.
Along the way, ICAN faced several challenges:
- Needed to maintain donor trust across a large monthly donor base
- Needed to respond quickly and personally to donor inquiries
- Needed to support donors who often require additional care and attention
- Needed tools to manage donor data and evaluate performance
The Anedot solution: donor support and centralized data tools
Anedot’s support has been instrumental in helping ICAN manage donor relationships and internal operations.
The platform assists ICAN with managing donor data, running reports, and analyzing performance metrics.
Anedot also enables donors to take control of their own contributions by allowing them to make changes independently, which helps build trust and confidence among supporters.
Anedot’s customer support team plays a key role by resolving donor issues quickly, often faster than ICAN could internally. This responsiveness ensures donors feel heard, valued, and well-supported, while allowing ICAN’s team to focus on maintaining strong relationships with their supporters.
Key benefits:
- Donor support tools that empower donors to take control of their contributions, allowing them to make changes themselves and build trust and confidence
- Recurring giving tools that support ICAN’s large base of monthly donors
- Compliance-friendly donor data and reporting tools that assist with managing donor data, running reports, and analyzing performance metrics
- Responsive customer support that assists staff and donors with questions and issue resolution
Because we have that trust with people, we've built trust over time. We've built relationships and you guys do a great job of supporting us so that we can support our people.
