Colleen:
Hey, this is Colleen with Anedot.
Welcome to Anedot Learn where we help you grow your organization through giving.
Today, we're going to cover our Gift of Any Amount feature.
This is the feature that allows your supporters to choose whether or not they want to receive a gift from your organization with their donation submission.
How to set up Gift of Any Amount

To set up this feature, we’ll navigate over to our Action Pages tab and you'll see there's this option for GOAA Products.
If you don't see that, don't worry. Shoot us an email at help@anedot.com and we can enable that for you.
That GOAA option here stands for Gift of Any Amount. And if you click that, you will see you can add a product.
We've added a few products here as an example, but if you're adding a new one, you'll see we ask for a product name, an internal SKU, a value, a quantity, a description, and a product image.
Most of these are for internal purposes, but you'll see here a product name that will be included on your page, when you add that product to your page as well as your product image.
I highly encourage if you have a product image, go ahead and add it to the page.
So that way when it's added to the donation page, it's added as your product and it's just easy to see who's receiving what when they opt in to receive that gift.
Once we've added the details to the product, we'll navigate over to this Pages area, and this is where you can add it to multiple pages, one page, whatever you would like to do there, you can add it here.
I went ahead and made it very clear. I created a page that says “Support Our Cause - Tote Thank You.”
So it's clear I'm using this for our tote GOAA product. And I'll go in and edit that, so you can see how to add that there.
If we navigate to this Finance tab and then we click Product, this is where you can add your GOAA product.
So I went ahead and I set the reward criteria. So you'll see here there is a $7 minimum amount that I had set. Maybe the cost of the product.
I opted “no.” Someone does not have to create a recurring gift to receive this reward, but the default will be “yes,” but it just depends on the use case for the page.
Forced gift. So this would be if someone has to receive the product every time they give a donation above X amount.
That reward criteria, the default is “no.” I set that to “no.” Because sometimes we'll have individuals that will give multiple times on the page and maybe they don't want to receive a product each time they do.
This can be adjusted at any time. So if you want to change out your product, maybe you run out of shopping totes and you want to add a travel mug, you can absolutely do that as well.
Once we've added it to the page and it's set as we would like it to, you'll hit publish there.
But before we start sharing our page, I highly advise adding maybe a text to your page, so that way it's very clear what the individual is receiving and when they can expect it.
You'll see here I added “Join the fight against hunger today! Give now, and we'll say thank you with a shopping tote! Your gift should ship between 1-2 business days.”
So that way they know what they’re receiving, they know when they should receive it. And you can even see here too, if they select above that $7 amount, they'll see the shopping tote option as well.
If we move on over to Workflows here and we click Receipt. This is where I would also suggest adding what the individual is receiving and when they should receive it.
It's great when using a GOAA product to be extremely clear on expectations.
So here I just added again, “If you receive a shopping tote, please expect it to be shipped in 1-2 business days.”
And then I also gave an email. So that way if they have questions about their product or maybe it was shipped to the wrong address, then they can reach out to that email as well.
The last thing that I'll mention here.
So if we move over to the Design area, when we scroll down here, I added within the footer, “A donation receipt will be issued for funds received in excess of the fair market value of the promotional product.”
And I gave an email address that they can reach out to as well.
So that way it's abundantly clear if they have questions, they have a point of contact there.
Once we are ready to share our page, we can click share and we can copy that link. We can copy the embed to our site, or we can use that QR code to share our page.
So once donations start coming in on that page and we have people selecting, yes, I would like to receive that GOAA product, then you'll see all of those donations on your Entries tab.
You can filter specifically on that page, so that way you're only looking at the data for that page. Or if you'd rather, you can always use webhooks to pass that information to your fulfillment provider as well.
So super easy to pass that information, or you can always export that as well.
How using Gift of Any Amount can significantly boost revenue

Our friends over at NextAfter performed a very interesting study utilizing this feature, and I thought it was worth mentioning.
The overarching key takeaways that they found from their experiment is that offering a product, so using that GOAA product, as a premium gift in exchange for a donation, instead of actually just selling that product at a retail price, significantly increased the number of donations received.
So not only did this result in an increase in conversion rates, but it also resulted in a valid increase in revenue.
Here is the study: How adding a premium can help increase average gift and ICR
Here is another helpful study: How adding a premium to an instant donation page affects conversion
I found it really interesting in how the Gift of Any Amount feature played into the amount that donors wanted to give.
And I'll also link a few example pages that people are using this feature really well, so that you have an idea of how to use it as well.
So if you have any questions, you can always reach out to us and we're happy to help set these up as well.
You can reach us at help@anedot.com. Thank you!
